Motown shows no brotherly love to the White Elephant

Detroit took the series 3 games to 1. Only the first game wasn't close as the Tigers jumped all over Lefty Grove and Jim Bunning won 7-0. Rube Walberg out dueled Frank Lary in the second game and, sparked by Jimmie Foxx's homer, won 3-1. Norm Cash's 8th inning homer won the third game for Terry Fox, 4-2. The last game went into extra innings, with the winning run coming home for the Tigers when Lew Krause walked Steve Boros with the bases full, having previously walked Al Kaline and Cash after Billy Bruton opened the inning safe on an error by Krause. Jim Donohue got the win, 3-2. These two powerhouses combined for only two homers in the series. --contributed by Tom "Crash" Davis--
